Before China Star chinese delivery around this area was hard to find and if you did it was over priced, and the food was ehhh. This place is super clean, very friendly and their food is as good as it gets for Orlando, sorry I am a big city girl once you have tasted food from Chicago or New York its hard to call anything good LOL. With that being said for me to be giving it 4 stars it has to be good. The rice is delicious and i really dont have to put much soy sauce on it, I love their egg rolls and the sweet and sour chicken. My favorite Chinese is general Tso chicken this one is ok not the best but just ok. It has become my favorite rainy day i refuse to cook delivery place.

This is our GO TO place for Chinese takeout in our part of Winter Park. I have never set foot into this restaurant because my husband is the designated pick up guy! Lol Based on the food, I'm really pleased! It usually only takes about 10 min (from when I place my order by phone) for our order to be ready. My favorites are the mixed won ton/egg drop soup, the shrimp lo mein and the egg rolls. My husband always orders one of the combination meals which is a good value as it comes with a cooked meat of your choice, pork fried rice and egg roll. Food portions are huge and very affordable so it makes for several meals. It's nothing fancy but the best food comes from hole in the wall restaurants!

MEH.... my coworker gave them a 3 out of 10 and I would have to say the same... meh at it's best- i got chicken and broccoli lunch special because how can anyone mess up something so easy... The food tastes what the store smells like... If you understand what I mean by that is- all the food has that weird taste and smell too it- but it's all the same flavor. I dont think this is anything to write home about.. I'm from NY and know good chinese.... this is not the place for me... glad other people enjoy them because i wont be ordering from them again. very disappointed... had to update this after i initially wrote it- just opened my fortune cookie cause who doesn't love those ... mine was rubbery- i could actually unfold the cookie and bend it- WTH the fortune cookies aren't even good... SMH

Found my go-to fast-chinese food spot! It's a little out of the way living downtown Orlando but the food is really good (if you are expecting americanized chinese food). And it's cheap. Really a shame there is virtually nowhere downtown to get decent chinese, but this place makes up for it. Picked my food up and the staff was fast, friendly and the place seemed really clean. The dinner combo is a steal for $8.25. TONS of food and their pork fried rice is THANKFULLY not all greasy and nasty. The pork seems lean and there are tons of veggies in it. We went with the Mongolian beef and the sesame chicken. Both were very good. We also got some teriyaki beef (the kind that comes on a stick) and wish we'd doubled the order. Very tasty and we scarfed the four (large) strips of meat down in about 1 minute! LOL The egg rolls are OK but I think next time I'll try a spring roll instead (the combo is 1 dish, lots of pork fried rice, and an egg roll that can be subbed out for a spring roll). I'll be back for sure when I get the hankering for chinese food!

We recently moved from College Park to Winter Park and we now have 2 choices for Chinese takeout. My roommate continues to defend China in College Park as his favorite, but I prefer this style of Chinese style cooking. Their fried rice has pork and more veggies, their meat pieces are a little smaller, which thankfully tend to be less fatty. The menu is larger without being overwhelming and thankfully DOESNT have sushi on it (Since when do Chinese places do Sushi?) . I've ordered a half dozen dishes to date, and I can say that each version is on par or superior to CiCP. The spicy dishes can be ordered extra spicy too, which is nice! Their service is about the same, with delivery times being pretty much what they say, if not a little quicker. The kid that has run the counter both times I've been there in person was nice enough, and thanked me for coming in. I don't know what to call this style vs what I've had before, but it's the one I like. I will be calling China Star when I'm in the mood for some Kung Pao chicken. :) OH, and don't forget. You can easily substitute the Egg Roll for a Veggie Spring Roll when you order a combo. I recall my roommate saying he didn't care for them, and neither did I. The Egg Roll's pretty thick and the filling isn't really identifiable. Go with the spring roll.

This is a chinese takeout restaurant next to the newer Publix on orlando ave near fairbanks. I went on a whim craving for sesame chicken for lunch and found this place. It was pretty busy inside with a few tables, but I ordered takeout. After I made my order, my food came out in less than 2 minutes! Extremely quick service and the prices are very inexpensive! And for the amount of food you get, its a steal!! There are also specials where you can get an egg roll and soup, but I just got the meal and it was deeee-lish! Definitely satisfied my craving. So if you're in the area and craving for chinese takeout, this is the place to go!

It's ontging special, there is a ton of them like this Chinese restaurant out there. The food is average. I had moo goo gai pan and won ton soup. I'm starting to wonder if they import all they food from china. All the Chinese seem to taste the same, with a few exceptions.

Best Chinese in the area! This is a family run business and they put out some awesome food. The best deal is their dinner combinations which consist of a main course, pork fried rice, and a spring roll for $8.25. I love the sesame chicken, Mongolian beef, and the chicken with garlic sauce.

Very good Chinese takeout. I've ordered from here a couple of times now and it has been consistently great every time. They have an excellent lunch and dinner menu to choose from. I have tried most of the popular dishes and have not been disappointed. Feel free to drop by and give them a try!

when our favorite chinese place closed (boo) we started hunting around for a new place. we went here for awhile, but started getting annoyed with the inconsistency of the food. the most obvious thing was the egg drop soup. sometimes it was fine (not great, but decent), sometimes it would taste like water with egg whites cooked in, but the very last (forever) time that we ordered take out, the soup tasted like weird cake batter. so so strange. i've made egg drop soup, it isn't really complicated, and coming from a chinese restaurant, it should be something you could bet on.

We ordered delivery - Veggie Lo Mein, Chicken Fried Rice, General Tso's Chicken, and a gaggle of egg rolls. The kids love Lo Mein & Fried Rice, and I love the seemingly very unhealthy deep fried General Tso's Chicken - served lovingly with some broccoli to bring you back from the brink of a heart attack. I like my GS Chix very spicy, and this was only mild, but it still had good taste. They quoted 40 minutes for delivery & were here in about 25 flat which is a bonus. The food is consistent. I've had better Chinese food but it's close and quick. This was not our first time here, and definitely will not be our last.

Well done for delivery Chinese food. I ordered the king pao chicken. Chicken was moist and all white pieces. The sauce however was not spicy at all, to my disappointment. I was quoted a 45 minute delivery time & they arrived within 20.

My favorite Chinese delivery place around!! I've never actually been inside this place, so this is just about their delicious food, good prices and quick delivery. I rarely order Chinese delivery...too often these places are super unhealthy and overall just "meh." I mean, I'm sure this place isn't the healthiest, or even close to it, but they make delicious food. I've ordered from them 4 or 5 times now and gotten a pretty wide variety of food. I'm generally a chicken kind of gal when it comes to Chinese, and all of the chicken dishes I've had were delicious. They're pretty fast with the delivery, which is excellent. Their prices are super reasonable. Overall, this place is great.

The food is eh but they deliver late night so I had to go for it. They give out pretty good portions for the price. But be careful as Chinese food in general can be oily and will upset the stomach at times. I always order the same stuff: orange chicken, fried rice, szechuan chicken, lomein noodles. All were just mall food court quality. Would still eat there though.

For take out Chinese food, pretty good. I've had their food before. I was at a girlfriends house and we had our order delivered. Delivery took 45 minutes, but it was during peak dinner time, I can't imagine they have a fleet of drivers just waiting to bring me MY vegetable chow mei fun! So take delivery time into account if you're getting delivery. Otherwise, stroll in, order up, bring it on home.

This is the CLEANEST Chinese food take-out place ever! The inside is clean enough and nice enough to eat in. The drink station is immaculate, by far cleaner than most chain restaurants. Dinner combination is $8.50 comes with fried rice and an egg roll. Lunch special is $6.25 from 11am-3:00pm, choice of soup or soda. The food is pretty good. Fresh for sure. I'll definitely return. They are pretty busy too. I've been here for 30 minutes and they've had a least 15 to go orders.

I was understandably dubious at first. I've had more than one unfortunate experiences with chinese food restaurants named things like "China Star" or "Number One Chinese". I was even more dubious once I realized their website was definitely not working. But it was late, I was lazy and me and my friends were hungry. The woman who took our order really did not speak English well, but with patience it worked out fine. The delivery was quick enough that I was impressed. As for the food? I won't lie, it wasn't like something I'll be making special trips to Florida for. But it was good, solid food. Not too greasy, not too sweet or salty. Just good food that hasn't made me sick. I would definitely order from them again, and if the name has you hesitating? Take the chance. You can definitely do worse at 10 pm.

Food is below the standard Chinese strip mall joint. Very bland and chewy meat. Here's the kicker.. I ordered delivery a few weeks ago and was waiting outside for the food. I observed the delivery driver pass my driveway and stop at the end of my lot. It's obvious he missed my house, so instead of putting the car in reverse, like normal people, this idiot drives over the sidewalk, through my lawn, and parks on the driveway as if nothing happened. When confronted, this clown did not have much to say.. neither did my wallet when it came to tip money! Based on the bland food and poor delivery experience I will not be returning for business!

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
